Pre-Visit Checklist

Universal:

Please remove the following:

  • Family Pictures

  • Personalized ornaments or awards

  • Memorabilia

  • Pet supplies, accessories and toys

  • Turn on all Interior and Exterior Lighting

Lighting:

  • Turn on ALL lights in the house. Replace burnt-out bulbs prior to appointment

  • Turn ON ceiling fan lights but keep the fan OFF

  • Open window curtains and lower window blinds but keep the horizontal slats open

  • Turn all TV and computer screens off unless they display an art like image

Exterior:

  • Remove cars from the driveway and front of home. Close garage doors

  • Hide garbage cans, hoses and other gardening tools

  • Ensure windows are free of streaks

  • Clean the yard

  • Remove any toys or sports equipment from the yard and driveway

Interior:

Kitchen & Dining Area:

  • Set tables with a standard dining table set up

  • Clean off and wipe down all countertops

  • Remove appliances, knife blocks, etc.

  • Remove all items on the exterior of the refrigerator

  • Remove throw rugs, hanging towels and paper towels.

  • Hide garbage can, remove dishes and drain stopper.

  • Straighten and tidy chairs.

Bedrooms:

  • Make all beds using decorative pillows if available

  • Remove all personal items from bedrooms

  • Clean under bed if it will show in photos

  • Clean any walk-in closets

Exterior continued:

  • Uncover pools and hot tubs if clean and skim leaves. Hide cleaning equipment.

  • Clean and arrange furniture, open umbrellas, plump cushions

  • Remove grill and smoker covers but hide utensils

  • Sweep sidewalks, driveway, patio, decks and pool area

  • Remove flags, signs and any personal ornaments

Bathrooms:

  • Arrange hand and body towels

  • Ensure mirrors are clean

  • Hide all trash cans, plungers and cleaning equipment

  • Remove floor mats and hygiene products from bathroom

  • Close toilet seat and apply fresh toilet paper roll

  • Close shower curtain or door.

Living Room and Common Spaces:

  • Vacuum, sweep and mop where appropriate

  • Tidy couches, fluff pillows, and remove clutter

  • Dust off any screens

  • Remove all personal items

  • Ensure items such as cables, video games and remotes are hidden
